If you’re running Windows 7, the latest version of Internet Explorer that you can install is Internet Explorer 11. However, for your information Internet Explorer 11 is no longer supported on Windows 7.
Note that I already have GPO setting 'Configure Internet Explorer integration' set to 1 which is 'Internet Explorer mode'. Still the 2nd option under 'Internet Explorer compatibility' is still in the off position and the 1st option is 'never'. It is the current stable version 85 I'm using. Web page above says version 77 and above. The first line forces the browser into Offline mode-regardless of the mode it was closed in-and the second line opens the first page. This feature only cached the opened pages in a web browser. If you do not enabled this option yet, the web browser will display internet connection errors on pages.

Enable Offline Browsing in Google Chrome
Let’s begin with a my favorite web browser Google Chrome. Chrome supports offline browsing feature. Using this feature it can easily access the cached version of any web page. Before enabling this option, once read the Warning of enabling Chrome advanced features:

OK, open Google Chrome and type “chrome://flags/” in the URL. This will display advanced features of Google Chrome. Navigate to these features and find “Enable Show Saved Copy Button” option then select Enable Primary.
When task done, click Relunch Now, thechanges will take effect the next time you relaunch Google Chrome.
Work Offline in Mozilla Firefox
The Mozilla Firefox work offline is a great feature to enable offline browsing. You can enable Work Offline mode in Firefox to access saved/cached webpages without the Internet.
- Open Mozilla Firefox, press Alt key to see the menu tables.
- Select the “File” button from the navigation bar.
- Simply select the “Work Offline”
Once restart your Firefox to take effect the changes.
Enable Offline Browsing with Firefox Add-ons
If you need more advanced options from an offline feature in Firefox, try to install an add-ons. The add-ons I recommend is Work Offline. The same name but with more options. Simply install this add-ons and enable offline browsing with more advanced features.
About Adds work offline mode UI to Mozilla Firefox. And this extension also have these functions:
- Change online/offline icon
- Force online/offline mode when Firefox starts up
- Restore last online/offline mode when Firefox starts up
- Show the offline warning in the notification bar or alert pop-up
- Go offline when idle, go online when get back
- Go offline when a window becomes inactive, go online when a window becomes inactive
- Manage online/offline automatically if the network is available
- Configure keyboard shortcut
- Show the offline message on the titlebar
- Reload all tabs when Firefox goes to online mode
- Open the option dialog by right-click menu on the icon
This Firefox add-ons is a pretty good feature of desktop users. But for mobile devices I prefer the firs method.
How to Enable Work Offline on Opera Browser?
Internet Explorer Work Offline Mode
Currently I don’t have Opera installed. I found this in help center of Opera Web browser. If you want to catch up on reading webpages and mail while you are not connected to internet, you can use Opera’s offline mode. Follow the steps below:
- Go to Settings > Preferences > Advanced > History and make sure that Cache is “On”, and uncheck “Empty on Exit”. This ensures that the mail and webpages you have open will be available.
- Select Settings > Work Offline.
- To return to online mode, select this menu option and uncheck “Work Offline“.

Note: Currently Safari, IE 11 and Edge doesn’t have this useful feature, or I can’t find on their settings. If you know please comment us and explain it.
