| Hello, since my last update of Universal Control on 1.7 will not start my mixer. Presosnus 16.4.2. The display shows Please Wait and the console unresponsive. How can I solve the problem again. Universal_Control_173_5742 which is the current driver. Presonus StudioLive 16.4.2 Mac OS X 10.8.5 |

Mac OS X 10.15 Catalina is still in beta and is still subject to change. This KB article may not apply after the OS is fully released.

Nov 11, 2019 I just installed PreSonus Universal Control.pkg and PreSonus FireWire Driver.pkg from MAC-UniversalControlv32056558.dmg. Now my FireStudio Mobile shows up in Audio Midi Setup and I can choose it as an audio output for example, but no sound. Mac Mini 10.8.2 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 16 GB RAM DDR3 Universal Control 1.7 Bi-Lingual Firewire 400 (FireStudio) - Firewire 800 (Mac mini) With the above config, I get blinking red light. Universal Control does not detect any clock source. It appears that Mac OS X does not know that FireStudio Project is connected via firewire. Can anyone assist?
| Just wondering: Are you guys using the correct download page for the mixer at hand? For the AI mixers (the ones with the USB dongle socket) the download page is here (same UC for all AI mixer models). For the (mostly discontinued) non-AI mixers (without the USB socket) the download page is here (same UC for all non-AI mixer models) |

| There's now a number of users struggling with the same 'wait' situation and for each of you the exact computer configuration will be different. As a first action for all with this wait issue check the firewire config on your computers. You have to set it up correctly for a reliable connection. It is a bad idea to link computer and mixer using a shaky configuration. Regarding PC firewire compatibility and configuration important information can be found here. Another known culprit is the firewire cable. Get yourself a good quality cable. Also pay special attention to FW400 to FW800 cables. These must be 'bilingual' for the interfacing to work. And in general for help on computer/interface related issues please share your configuration details (make and model of computer and FW interface/chipset, OS and UC version, FW driver, exact mixer model and firmware version). Very hard to offer help without those details. |

Until we are, if you experience this issue upon updating firmware on your classic mixer we request that you submit a technical support ticket so that we can collect the data on your situation and use it to find the cause and cure. The ticket will also allow us a means to assist you in an expedient manner to get back to operational status as quickly as possible. |
| Quick question for everyone that had to use UC 1.2 to update mixer firmware from 1.12 to 1.13 first before then updating to the latest firmware using UC 1.7.3: What OSX version did you use to do the UC 1.2 update from 1.12 to 1.13? Was it the same computer you then later installed UC 1.7.3 on to do the final update to the latest firmware, after which the mixer was stuck like this? |
